Lead-Based Paint inspections by a certified assessor generally consists of the direct survey of painted components using an X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzer. This method is non-destructive, provides real-time surface lead content measurements, and is EPA,HUD, DOEE, MDE, and DPOR approved. Where opted by the client or as needed, inspections may also include paint chip sampling. In pre-1978 buildings, DOB or DOEE may require a lead inspection be performed prior to issuing renovation, building or demolition permits.
